Dreams Zen Revitalise latex mattress questions

Hi, I have started my search for a new bed and came across this fantastic site. I called into 'Dreams' and liked the feel of their Zen Revitalise latex bed. Now having read your description of said bed as a 'polished turd' I am obviously not going to buy it. However, I am a little concerned at the number of comments stating that your Origins latex beds are very firm..is this due to the thicker latex?
