How do you meet UK fire retardant regulations with your Latex mattresses? Untreated cotton burns and continues to burn when the flame is removed. Wool burns when lit and continues to smoulder when the flame is removed. Unless you have developed something new you must use chemicals to meet the UK regulations. Will you answer this question fully before I can consider a purchase.

Hi Terry,

Our latex mattresses have a 1 cm layer of graphite latex on either side of the 100% natural latex core, and we do not use wool, cotton.

The addition of the graphite in these two layers provides sufficient fire retardance to meet the UK regulations for the upholstery of the mattress.

Please note that the outer fabric of the mattress will have fire retardants as standard on it, to meet British standards.

I trust that this is of assistance to you, but if you require anything further, please call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards Gary
