How would you recommend putting your bases on a laminate floor?

Hi there,
I bought an Artisan Bespoke bed from yourselves about 3 or 4 years ago. Up until now, we have had carpet in the room the bed has been in.
We are now having laminate installed under the bed instead of carpet.
What would you recommend I do (if anything) to make sure the bed doesn't slide around on the laminate or damage it?
I've heard reference to locking casters - Can I remove the existing casters and put new locking ones in? (Are they a standard size?)
I've also seen the idea of caster cups when I did a google search.
What would be your recommended solution, taking in to account both function (bed doesn't slide around and laminate doesn't get damaged) and aesthetic (the solution looks good)?
Many thanks,
Ben.

Hi Ben,

Thank you for your question.

The best solution for you would be the purchase of castor cups as these will spread the weight of the bed on the current castor without the need to consider replacing, which has it's drawbacks, including damage to the existing socket. Replacing with locking castors will stop movement, however, the weight on the castor is likely to make indents in the laminate. It may be possible to purchase cups that compliment the colour of your current castors or base.

I trust that this helps but if you do require any further information or assistance, please telephone the office on 0161 437 4419.

kind regards Julie
