The Origins Pocket 1500 is not hypoallergenic and if your son does have such an allergy, perhaps you should look at our latex products (Fusion range), although these may not be suitable for very light weight individuals.

Trying to eradicate dust mites is, in reality, a losing battle. What will help reduce the lifecycle and impacts of dust mites are a robust cleaning regime. Clean covers replaced frequently and mattress maintenance will help reduce any impacts. The same can be said for mouldy mattresses, ensuring that rooms are not humid and have good ventilation should help keep your mattress in perfect shape.

You could also look at buying a mattress encasement which is like a duvet which you put your mattress in to.  These are made for allergy problems with dust mites as they allow the mattress to breathe but keeping the dust mites at bay.
