I completely understand what you are going through and I can hopefully point you in the right direction!
 
The Artisan Bespoke is the firmest 100% natural fibre mattress we can provide. This mattress paired with a medium spring tension based on your body weight to ensure you are correctly supported underneath the natural fillings. 
 
This mattress will give you the desired feel you are looking for, whilst taking those hip pains away by putting you on the right spring tension. The reason you are experiencing the pains you are is due to the spring tension as you mentioned being too firm. With the springs being too firm you are then unable to compress them, therefore receiving very minimal support from the spring unit. This will also affect the longevity of the fibres above the spring unit due to the lack of support, these fibres will settle and then be very difficult to return to their original state. 
 
As you don't like the mattress to be too 'sinky' this would be the best option for you as it will create the firm upholstery that you desire whilst being correctly supported by a medium spring tension on the 1600 calico encased pocket springs.
