Is the Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 suitable for side sleepers?
Hello. We are currently looking for a new mattress. I have a chronic back pain condition and my wife has intermittent shoulder pain. I weigh around 14 stone and my OH is around 10 stone. We are both side sleepers and in our 50s. Unfortunately, we do have a budget . Would the Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 (double) be suitable?
Kind regards
Tony
Hi Tony,
Thanks for your question,
Based on your body weights you are both a medium spring tension.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
From there you can pop this to the back of your mind, as this will not change unless your body weight drastically does.
As you are both side sleepers this would automatically tell me that you do not want anything too firm in the upper layers. This is to enable the most prominent parts of your body to sink into the comfort layers whilst simultaneously being supported by the spring unit. I feel that the Origins Reflex 1000 would be a bit to firm for you, given your preference. This mattress has a lot of reflex foam inside and gives a firmer feel. This is a mattress we usually recommend to hotels and B&Bs, as it can take a wide range of body weights and will come back to shape.
I would recommend the Origins Pocket 1500 mattress. This mattress offers a nice medium ie not too soft and not to firm, this mattress is also the most popular in the Origins range.
