1. The Artisan Naturals is 85% natural fibre on a calico encased pocket spring unit. As for its coolness its very subjective based on each sleeper. What we can say is that the natural fibre component is the most breathable of all fibres, especially compared to foam and synthetic fibres. 3. We always recommend a mattress protector is used from day one to help keep your mattress in perfect condition. Toppers can be used but we usually say try the mattress first without one and then add one if you want to soften or deepen the top comfort layer. We are working on a wool topper as we speak but we have yet to launch it. Finding the exacting specifications we demand takes some time and we want to get it just right!
4. Without knowing the gauge and wire diameter of the Vispring extra firm spring its impossible to say. We list all of our spring specifics on this post here, maybe have a look at refer back to vispring to compare.
5. The drawers do not impede the performance of firmness of the bases. The sprung and platform bases both work exactly the same regardless of drawer combination.
