Italian style wool mattress

On a recent holiday to Rome I had a fantastic few nights sleep. On revealing the mattress it turned out to be a thin depth wool mattress. I don't think it had springs but sat on a sprung base! I've struggled to find a similar product in the UK outside of a few companies. Is the modern equivalent to combine the spring base and wool into a single unit ? When I looked online there seemed to be a traditional Italian trade where a person would work on the wool fillings every few years.

Thank you for your question.
Unfortunately we do not make any mattresses that just have a thin layer of wool.
In our Origins Range of mattresses we have our origins Pocket 1500 which has a layer of wool on top of polyester and then pocket springs.
Our Artisan Range of mattresses have different amounts of natural fillings but are very deep mattresses and again these have pocket springs.
We do not know of any Companies that actually make the type of mattress that you are looking for and it may be preferable to see if the Hotel that you stayed in knows the Company who made their mattresses so that you could try and contact them direct.
