John Ryan mattress similar to Vi Spring John Lewis Woolacombe
Hi,I was looking to buy a Vi Spring, Woolacombe Superb from John Lewis in the summer as a 'special buy' (Super King, Medium Tension). However, when I went to buy it they'd taken it out of the Special Buys and I was told that it will be back in the sale this December. So before going back to buy it in a few weeks, I thought I'd look around. Can you recommend an alternative please?FYI my wife and I are both around 6ft, I'm 12st and she's 10st. Side Sleepers and we have a sold Divan Base.(Side question - the Divan base is ok but I often feel like mattresses don't support me - too much pressure on the shoulder and hips, no support under the body and legs. Would a sprung Divan help that much or is the mattress much more important?)
Hi Mr Rathband,
Thanks so much for your question,
Our nearest comparison to the Vi-Spring Woolacombe Superb would be the Artisan Luxury. This is the softest in the comfort layer and supported by the right spring tension (based subjectively by your body weight as shown by the table below)
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
This will provide you with a soft comfort layer being side sleepers fully allowing you to sink into the comfort layer. It is a 100% natural fibre mattress that carries a 20-year guarantee (10 years each side)
A sprung divan will soften down the overall support level for you slightly although they will not drastically change the feel of the mattress.
If you want to know more about choosing wool based mattress our guide below will help you work out the quality beds from the cheaper entry level models.
