Mattress topper for orthopaedic bed

I recently purchased an orthopaedic bed, which initially was firm but by now I'm already experiencing lower back tenderness. Thus, I wonder if purchasing a mattress topper would be a sound idea, so as to provide a bit of lower back support.

Hi there,

My initial query would be why did you purchase a firm mattress in the first place?

The advice provided by experts previously was that if you have back problems you ought to opt for a firm mattress.

However, organisations such as the Institute of Chiropractors has now issued advice which contradicts this.

In addition, I would advise that toppers are normally utilised to provide a softer more comfortable feel and not a firmer one, such as you seek.

You can always soften a mattress, but you cannot make one firmer.

Kind regards
