Metal Double Bed Frame - Long Central Metal Pole missing

During a move the central pole that holds the slats together under the mattress went missing. The metal bed is virtually new and would be a shame to dispose of it, will I be able to get a metal pole and fix it somehow? Or even wood, perhaps. I could paint the wood black like the frame. Would appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

Hi there,

I would suggest contacting the retailer where you purchased the frame from to see if they can obtain a replacement central support bar for you from the manufacturer.

If they are unable to assist, I do not think a wood replacement would be suitable as the weight tolerance needs to be quite high and wood is likely to fail, unless you use a particularly thick piece. I am sorry I cannot offer any further advice.

Kind regards,
