Hi there,
I purchased the above mattress from you in May 2018 however over the past few months the mattress has been sinking despite us flipping the mattress every month. Before purchasing, I asked for advice if this mattress was suitable for a sprung slatted bed frame and was told it was but to be on the safe side to get some mdf boards to place under the mattress which I have done however the mattress seems to be sinking. Can you please advise me on how do I proceed with the matter? Many thanks

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your enquiry. All mattresses have some natural settlement but the proper care and maintenance can help to reduce this. When a mattress is first manufactured all of the upholstery is compacted and it takes you sleeping and moving about to soften them. Turning a mattress once a month for the first year will help to even this wear as will utilising the whole sleep surface.  After the first year, you only need to turn the mattress over every three months, more often than this and the upholstery layers don't have time to regain their loft.

The information you were given regarding boarding over your slatted base is correct. This gives the mattress a uniform surface and stops the springs settling into the space between the slats.

If you feel that your mattress has dipped more than natural settlement would indicate please contact the office on 0161 437 4419 to discuss this matter.

Kind Regards
Michaela
