Origins Comfort too Firm - Alternative?

Hi John and Ryan,
Last Summer we purchased a super king Origins Comfort mattress from you for our slatted wooded bed base. We found it to be far too firm but expected it to settle a bit but year on we still find it far too firm unfortunately. We are not sure why this is - we weigh 10 stones and 14 stones and we were advised before purchasing that we would most likely find it to be too soft!
We have been mattress hunting again and have today tested the Vi Spring Shetland which we both loved and found incredibly comfortable (if also incredibly expensive).
I notice that you see the Artisan Luxury mattress which seems to be your softest. Can you please let me know if this is at all comparable to the Shetland and if you think it would feel like a soft enough mattress for us as we seem to prefer a very soft bed. Is if softer than the Origins Comfort?

I am sorry to hear that you are finding the Origins Comfort mattress too firm and am a little surprised as this is the softest mattress in the Origins range.
Having said that, the slatted base will have a slight effect of the firmness, but shouldn't make it uncomfortable as this mattress is usually paired with a platform topped base.
Have you considered applying a topper to provide that extra level of softness?
The Vi-Spring Shetland is a soft mattress and although we do not make a direct comparison, our Artisan Luxury has the softest upholstery layers in the whole of our ranges.

Although your body weights dictate that you should opt for a medium spring tension, your overall preference seems to be for soft.
In this case, I would opt for a soft spring tension and this together with the soft upholstery is likely to provide you with the feel required.
