Recommendation for a new mattress for a 17 year old

Seeking new bed for 17 year old son. Double size. He is 6 foot 1" and weighs 11stone but will likely grow more and get heavier as is broad but slim at moment.
He sleeps on side, front and back and doesn't like a firm mattress.
Am looking at your Origins Pocket 1500 mattress with matching solid platform top base plus drawers.
Does this sound suitable?
Also, we have just bought a new Hypnos classic with wool and eOlus medium firm springs/" title="pocket spring">pocket spring mattress which I find comfortable but a little firm but it is on a platform top base. Will purchasing one of your sprung artisan bases help?

Thanks for getting in touch to ask for advice on choosing a mattress for your son.
I think you have made an excellent choice in the Origins Pocket 1500 for your son as it will provide a medium feel for him now and will continue to do so up to a maximum body weight of 17st. The Origins range are great for all sleepers but particularly teenagers who are growing as they can accommodate a wide weight range and really last!
As far as the purchase of a sprung base to accompany the Hypnos mattress you have is concerned, this will make the mattress feel slightly softer and forgiving as the base provides that extra sink, although I am not able to comment on the quality or performance in general of your Hypnos product because the published details of upholstery etc. are limited.
We offer an Eco Mattress Recycling service for a small fee. This means we can remove and carefully dispose of your old mattress in an environmentally friendly way.
The specialist recycling centre we use can break down nearly every component part of your mattress and then recycle it for a second life as something else!
