Replacing 25 year old mattress - please help

A customer asked

I am looking to replace a zipped superking size mattress which we have had for 25 years and which we have just started to notice that it is softening up.

Our weights are (male) 14.5 st and (female) 8st and we prefer a firmish mattress - I have looked at Fusion by the Divan Bed Centre @ £399; Wedo Mattresses @ £219 (both 1500 springs) and Sueno 3000 @£260.

I presume natural fibres are better than the foam fillings.

I would appreciate your comments.

With Thanks Bruce Duff

Hi Bruce.

None of the beds you refer to have any breakdown of the constituent parts by way of GSM (grams per square metre) .

The nature of the fillings and whether one is better than the other is very subjective and will depend upon personal taste.

Unfortunately, if you have a limited budget, a mattress with natural fillings may be beyond your reach, however, we do have a clearance site and there may something to suit your requirements and budget therein.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419

Kind regards Mike.
