Soft mattress for the over 11stone (just)
My partner has a connective tissue disorder and after trying some beds prefers a soft Vispring Regal Superb. We have a limited budget and wondered is it OK to have a softer mattress and weigh 11st 2lbs. We have an existing divan - is it better to buy a complete new mattress and divan which is cheaper or use our existing divan and have a more expensive mattress?
Hi Lisa
If your existing divan is in working order then it does not need replacing. I would use your budget for the new mattress. One word of caution is that if your partner has tried the mattress on a sprung divan and yours is a solid top then it will feel firmer. Read this article to help you understand the difference. This doesn't mean that you need to replace your base if it is different but you may want to adjust the firmness of the springs to compensate.
Have a look at our comparable mattress, the Artisan Naturals which has a similar feel in the upholstery layers. With regards to firmness and bodyweight then yes a soft spring tension is fine for someone who is 11 st if they find it comfortable.
If you would like any further information or would like to discuss the suitability of any of our mattresses please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
