A customer asked

Hi, my partner likes firm mattress however I prefer soft.

One of us always struggles as we get backache from certain mattress's.

What type of mattress would be best.

He's 5,9 and around 11 stone and I'm 5,5 and around 10 stone.

Hi Kirsty.

Because you are of such similar bodyweights I think the support requirements should be the same for you both.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Your preferences for firm and soft should be adapted by the comfort layers.

Obviously, to obtain this from one mattress is bordering on the impossible.

I personally think this soft / firm anomaly is based on previous bad choices of mattress and I am confident that we will be able to supply something entirely suitable for you both - obviously based on your budget.

As a compromise i would recommend something with a medium feel in the top upholstery layers i.e not too soft or too firm.

Kind Regards Gary
