Upgrading our cheap mattress

A customer asked

Hi, We are looking to upgrade our mattress and bed from a cheapish double bedframe and a ten year old Sealy Posturepedic mattress. I am finding that I have back ache every morning, which I think is a compination of poor bed frame and past-it mattress.
Your webite is great, complete with informative information, not readily available on other sites.
We started off by looking at Bensons for beds and their Sealy range but have been totally put off by the traditional larger stores.
We have been looking at Harrison beds and have tried a mattress in a local store which is the King Size Medium Pearl 6000. They have an ex display model and is on offer for £600 for the mattress only.
Could you give me your thoughts on this mattress when compared to your Artisan 1500 mattress.
We are 11.5 and 11 stone.
Also, do you have any advise to buying an ex display model. It looked immaculate and I can't there is much wear and tear!
Thanks.
Ewan.

Hi Ewan,

Unfortunately, because Harrisons do not publish the details of the upholstery layers by way of GSM (grams per square metre) I am unable to provide a comparison to any of our mattresses or any other mattress on the market. It also means that I am unable to provide you with an opinion as to the quality and performance of the Pearl 6000.

As far as buying ex-display models are concerned, I would be wary of doing so as you do not know how long it has been on display and how many, possibly thousands, of people have laid on it to try it out. Obviously, the latter will have an effect upon the mattress and will make it feel completely different to a brand new mattress. If you would like more specific advice as to the suitability of one of our products please call the office.

Kind regards.
