I am about to order a Hypnos shallow sprung divan base and wish to buy a suitable mattress. I am about 9st 9 and my husband is about 11st 8 on a good day. I wish to buy a mattress with as close to 100% natural fibres as possible for a budget of around £1,000. Our current mattress is. Silent night Mirocoil 7 with a built in topper. We have not been happy with this mattress as it has developed a hump down the middle and I have on occasion woken with a lower back ache.

Hi Andrea,

Sorry to hear your Silent Night Miracoil 7 with pillowtop is causing you lower back ache. Pillowtop mattresses are notorious for this, see our review of Pillowtops here with more details.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

You've not specified a size so I've assumed a king size in this instance, hope you don't mind! Have a look at our Artisan Naturals model which should be in your budget. If you want 100% natural then please look at our Artisan Bespoke 004. Both of these come with vanadian coated calico encased pocket springs, the highest quality spring possible. All of our mattresses are handmade.

Have a look at those two models and then get back in touch if you have any further questions Andrea on 0161 250 9661.

Many thanks
