Zips on Zip and Link beds guidance

I don't have the strength to turn a decent king size mattress because they weigh so much, so I'm considering zip & link. However, I sleep alone in the middle of the bed. Whilst I do use a mattress protector I'm not a fan of mattress toppers.

Would I feel the zip?

Hi F Wade,

Many thanks for your question on zip and link mattresses.

You're right to point out that all two-sided mattresses need turning each month and rotating each alternative month after that. This will help keep your mattress in top shape and extend its lifespan. Without this natural settlement can occur and cause one side to feel softer than the other. This is because all fibres will bed in and compress over time. Just like a new sofa does. So by turning and rotating you help even out and reduce this.

If you're going to struggle to turn a mattress a zip and link can make it far easier.

Most people do not feel the zips at all as they are recessed down the centre of the mattress. If you use a protector this should be fine. Please watch our video guide here to explain more.

We hope that helps answer your question. If you have any more mattress related questions please get back in touch on info@localhost or 0161 437 4419.

Sleep well
