Advice on Marks and Spencer mattress
Hi I am looking at a Marks & Spencer Comfort 2200 mattress which is currently half price.
They are not on display in stores - just online.
Do you know who makes M&S mattresses and if they are good.
It doesn't say if this is a medium support bed.
I have tried their Natural 1500 pillowtop and it seems quite comfortable.
Please let me know if you have any information on the Comfort 2200.
Thanks Alex
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your question.
I understand that "Relyon" make the mattresses for Marks & Spencer and with this in mind, it may be worth looking at Relyon's core range to see if there is anything similar. We have a really detailed article comparing Marks & Spencers mattress range here.
I note, however, that each of the mattresses you refer to have a pillow top.
This is something which we advise against as it restricts the longevity of the mattress.
In addition to the pillow top, there is no indication as to the level of upholstery contained within these mattresses, just a general indication of overall content.
When purchasing a mattress, you should have regard to the upholstery contents and the GSM (grams per square metre) of that upholstery contained therein and this together with consideration of the body weight of the persons using the mattress and the overall feel required.
I would suggest that you take a look at our Origins Pocket 1500 Kingsize mattress, which together with a separate topper would provide better value for money.

I trust that this helps.
