Feather and Black mattress comparisons
Hi John and Ryan, We are looking to buy two mattresses – first Super King size and second double size for our wooden slated beds.
I am 5’10” 85kg and my pregnant wife is 5’3″ and 60kg.
We visited Feather&Black in the store and within their Pocket sprung range we tried (a) SKS Bronte (Tension 7) priced at just under 1k, (b) SKS fitzgerald (Tension 7) priced around 1.8k and (c) SKS Byron (Tension 6), just for the feel, priced at around 3.6k My budget for the two mattress is about 2k.
I began researching on the internet and that is when I found your mini world which I must admit looks very refreshing.
I liked (c) very much but can not afford the price.
I liked (b) as well, but that too is a stretch.
May be the mark up due to brand is too high.
Would you be kind enough to shed some light on the comparable/superior product that you may have and still priced within my budget.

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, but expected – there is no breakdown of upholstery by GSM on the models you mention and therefore we are unable to do a side by side comparisons to see which model is going to offer you the best mattress for your budget.
The mattresses you mention are manufactured for F&B by Harrison Spinks and you can try and see if there are any mattresses from other retailers such as The John Lewis Natural Collection that are of a similar build for a lesser price.
However, the sticking point to all this is your budget of £2000 or so for a Super King Size and a Double mattress. Personally, I would say that our Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 SKS at £1350 and a DBL at £950 would be a good investment of your money. Although this is slightly over budget you may be able to get one or both from our outlet section at a discounted price.
Finally Prateek, you can only get what your budget allows you to get. Use the model I mention above as your starting point for comparisons: See what £1350 can get you in the usual outlets – Dreams / Bensons / M&S / John Lewis / Furniture Village etc.
