Marks and Spencer Refresh mattress problems
Hi John & Ryan Please help….I bought a Refresh Mattress med tension from M&S just over a month ago, I’m 5ft 6 & 9&1/2 stone (ish)… However I’ve never had such backache since it arrived, I’ve tried using the memory foam topper I had on last bed, it’s 7.5cm but feels too soft. I bought another memory foam topper 5cm 75kg but it’s still not right. I’m desperate…should I but a latex topper?
I tend to like a softer bed. I can’t waste any more money so need to work out what to buy to fix the mattress so any advice would be fab. Many thanks Maggie

It may be that this mattress just isn’t right for you in which case no topper that you purchase will resolve this problem for you. Perhaps it would be better to contact the company you made your purchase with directly and see what options you have to return it or exchange it for a softer model.

Second Layer: 750gsm Very soft Polyester: This coupled with the layers below brings the level of upholstery quite high. However, when compressed through tufting gives these layers a medium comfort but also has sufficient support by use of the springs.
Third Layer: 500gsm Polyester: This is the cushioning layer that acts as the dampener between the insulator layer below and the soft polyester that will follow.
Fourth Layer: One inch foam insulator: Directly on top of the spring unit we use a one inch layer of HD foam. This cushions you from the spring unit but also works with you enabling the pocket springs to rise and fall as you move.
The stretch knit mattress side panels are machine stitched . Traditionally hand tufted. Even though the mattress side panels are 9″ deep, the undulations caused by the abundant upholstery brings the mattress depth to a more realistic 13″.
