Moving from Tempur
Me and my partner are between 14 and 16st, 6″2, currently using the Tempur Memory Foam mattress, which is A: too hot B: does not support us when sitting up, or using a laptop or even reading as makes our back hurt after a few minutes, I suffer with my back so need excellent support and comfort, in all positions, just totally confused with all the spring counts, which is best, we paid £2000 for the Tempur so don’t wanna spend that again on another mistake, was look to keep it to a modest £1000

Tempur mattresses are predominantly made of memory foam, which is notorious for heat retention/generation and despite all the hype surrounding memory foam, this cannot be avoided.
With your particular body weights, we would suggest that a medium spring tension/feel mattress would provide the correct level of support. There are two types of upholstery which you can choose, man-made or natural, although naturally upholstered mattresses do tend to command a premium price. We assume that you are looking for at least a king size product so have based our recommendation on that in terms of pricing. Please view the Origins Pocket 1500, which has a standard medium tension spring unit together with man-made upholstery providing an overall medium feel. This is the best selling product in our Origins range.
Alternatively, if you wanted to opt for natural upholstery you could view the Artisan 1500, Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 or the Artisan Naturals, although the latter would be over your budget, but is the best selling product in the Artisan range. All of these products can have the spring tension selected to suit and all contain varying levels of natural upholstery with the Naturals having 85%.
