question about the video comparison.
Ok so i came across your website whilst studying about mattresses so i can make the best decision I can. What originally lead me here was the article regarding known scams within your industry. this was all noted and then i realised you were not only offering advise but you are selling your own brand of mattress. One question I have is having watched the video where you cut down 2 mattresses. one is the brand name silent night and the other is a one of a small hand made quality. You show the difference and that the silent night mattress actually has springs all connected inside where as the hand made one has pocket springs. So is this video implying that if i buy a top brand mattress they are going to tell me it is pocket springs and in actual fact it isnt? OR was the comparison not a very good comparison as it shows a pocket sprung mattress vs a brand name coil spring mattress?

We certainly don’t imply that mattress manufactures mislead you as to the specifications of their springs or layers.
Whilst many manufacturers wont give you the specifics on GSM or spring gauges I’ve not come across any that would lie about the contents and would never suggest this.
What we are trying to show is what you can get from your money, if you were to compare a shop bought mass produced mattress, and the same priced offering from an independent mattress manufacturer.
With the two mattresses we bought we show how for roughly the same price the difference you get can be staggering. Open coil vs a springs-the-arguments-2/”>pocket spring for example.
So what’s the purpose of this comparison? The aim really of the video is just to ask you, the consumer, to start to consider what’s in your mattress by asking all manufacturers the important questions.
A £500 mattress will not be the same quality across the board.

| £750 | The beginnings of a basic pocket springs unit with 800 – 1000 count. No substantial amount of filling other than foams and synthetic materials. Two sided models. |
| £1000 | Should get you away from most low ranges and into the mid-range pocket spring models. |
| £1250 | Should get you a decent pocket sprung mattress with some Natural Fibre content. |
| £1500 | Should get you many manufacturers mid-range models with Natural Fibres |
| £1500-£2000 | Should get you a Hand Made primarily Natural Fibre Quality Mattress |
| £2000+ | You should expect 100% Natural Fibres and Traditional Hand Made Construction Method. |
| £5000+ | A Bespoke Hand Made Sleep System, High-end Spring Units & Featuring the Worlds Most Luxurious Natural Fibres. |
You will need to ask about the support unit and the GSM of the fillings and depths / densities of any foams for example.
If you don’t you can’t accurately compare mattresses.
