Questions about Vi Spring Devonshire mattress

Simon asked
1st February 2015

Hi, Really good to have such a website like yours. I am planning to by a vi-Spring Devonshire. I am slightly above 11 stones. I guess I will chose the “medium” firmness. Is it a good option to use the Vi-Spring dream or heaven topper in addition to make the feeling even more comfortable and smooth?

Best and Thanks a lot, Simon

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your question on our website. Spring tension is dictated solely by an individuals body weight to give them the correct support and you are quite right a medium tension is appropriate for your body weight.

BodyweightSpring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kgMedium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg UpwardsFirm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call)Soft (1.2mm)

The Vi-Spring Devonshire (comparable with our Artisan Luxury) is soft in the comfort layers.  A mattress topper will produce a softer feel to any mattress although we would recommend you try your new mattress for a few weeks first.  This gives you time for your body to adjust to the new mattress and for you to get a true feel of the upholstery layers.  It may not be necessary for you to purchase any mattress topper.  Having said that, if you do find that you want the additional softness of a mattress topper we would recommend like for like in the materials used.  For a natural fibre mattress, you would be best with a natural fibre topper such as wool, that way you do not lose the advantages of the natural fibres in the mattress.
