Hi First of all thank you for such an informative site!

But I am even more confused about my choice now and the more research I do the more I become distrusting of the descriptions of any sort!

As you say-flowery :) I am looking for a decent pocket sprung, about 1500 springs in a kingsize for about £400 to replace our brilliant but more expensive one which we have had 10 years by a company called Marquis (???). I have found the Kozeesleep Opal and similar variations from that company, which are described as hand side stitched on some sites but not actually on their website so having my doubts. The info on fillings is rather open to interpretation too. Gainsborough Hampton was another option a was looking at. We definitely want a 2 sided mattress and have finally decided that we don't want memory foam on top (I hate it) but that's where our agreement ends, lol. I would like a latex topped one (have seen a La Romantica, but expensive)but my husband is not convinced about the durability even though we have had latex pillows for years. Would we be going down the right route on having a normal pocket sprung plus a latex ( I know its not talatay or pure latex) topper from ikea and can you shed any light on the above choices?

Any help would be appreciated. Martina 2013/05/06 at 11:27 Hi again Sorry, just reread my post and thought I might add a few bits. Having spent another whole day(!) reading more posts and answers on your site I am still thinking about the Kozee Sleep Opal plus a latex topper if needed, meaning a budget of around £600. I would be happy with a latex topped mattress but trying to find a compromise for my husbands misgivings .I am about 11 stone and he is 16, which I know could mean a firmer mattress for his side but since he can sleep on a washing line I am going by comfort levels for me. Selfish, I know!

We definitely want a 2 sided mattress-I swear it has made our current one last this long and a latex topper would also mean it’s portable for some very uncomfortable beds in the family. Have looked at the Ikea to stay within budget. Any help with my choices would be appreciated. Martina
