Suitable replacement for Slumberland Silver Seal mattress

Hi we're looking for a replacement for our old Slumberland Silver Seal 1200 pocket sprung wool topped bed.
It's rather aged now and is no where near as comfortable as it used to be.
We're looking for a four draw kingsize divan bed and have plucked the figure of £1400 out of the air.
However we are open to suggestions on budget.
My wife is 5'4", 53Kg, has a flattish pillow and sleeps on her front (recovery position) and likes a soft feel to the bed.
I'm 5'8", 77Kg and converted a couple of years ago from a front sleeper to a side sleeper with a chunky pillow.
As a result I'm not sure on how firm or soft I'd like the bed.
However I have spent many a comfortable afternoon nap on our leather sofa which is six or seven inches of soft cushion.
In some ways I find the sofa more comfortable than our bed especially on my shoulders as they feel like they bearing less weight.

Your wife (very light) at 8st is going to be more difficult to accommodate than you (average) at 12st.
The problem your wife will have if not looked at in detail will be that the spring support unit may not be forgiving enough for her lightweight to utilise fully.
As a beneficial exercise for you both I would be inclined to pop into Furniture Village or other good store and try out a Vi-Spring mattress in order for you to see the difference between a spring unit that can be made to accommodate your individual requirements and then compare that feeling to the mainstream offerings in the High Street Bedsheets.
This exercise will not only show you what spring tensions will be best for you (No doubt Soft for your wife (1.30mm and medium for you 1.40mm) but will also indicate what you can reasonably expect for your budget.
Once you know your parameters, you will be in a better position to select the best mattress you can get for your money.
For your requirements, I would be inclined to do a comparison between The Vi-Spring Regal Superb and our Artisan Bespoke 004.
