Mattress firmness

I am 9st my partner is 13st. I am trying to work out which mattress tension we would go for. I believe our current mattress is fairly firm and I like it. If we were to go for two zones on our weights I think you would recommend soft for me and medium or firm for my partner. This worries me as I've never liked a soft mattress In the past?

You are correct in your assumption that with your body weights you would need a split tension mattress, soft for you and medium for your partner.

Although you have advised that you are quite happy with a slightly firmer mattress.
In this instance, I would suggest that you opt for a medium tension across the whole mattress and if this does tend towards too firm for you, apply a mattress topper to provide that slightly softer feeling for you.
