Divan base
Hi- I purchased quite an expensive mattress from bensons but it is no where near as comfortable as I anticipated- it’s a lot firmer.I think the issue could be it is on a sprung slatted base. I am considering buying a divan base to improve the comfort and wondered which you would recommend.
Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for your question.
The type of base which you chose to put your mattress on will affect the overall feel of your mattress. If you would like to soften the overall feel of your mattress we would advise trying a pocket sprung base.
Our Artisan Sprung Bases offer the ultimate in mattress base design. Providing an even more luxurious responsive feel to your mattress.
We provide two options on our sprung edge bases.
1. The Bonnell coil sprung edge base as our starter model
2. Pocket Sprung ‘True Edge’ base as our premium model
Both are full upholstered in our fabric selection.
This allows you to choose a base suitable for your budget and requirements. Both are an exceptionally high quality base and your preference will depend on how discerning you want to be about your sprung edge base! Our timber frames are solid wood which is sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved sources making it a sustainable choice. These solid wood frames are then upholstered with 600GSM of Cotton Wool Upholstery to give a soft padded feel to them.
Spring edging can be looked upon as a mini mattress between the main mattress and the base. It offers a progressive support that dampens the strain of weight from the user. This significantly improves the overall comfort level of a mattress. This difference in comfort is often described as ‘Softer’ when compared to a Platform top divan equivalent.
The use of a sprung edged base also has the tendency to increase the lifespan of the mattress. The theory being that the actual springs inside the mattress are sharing the load with a further set of springs within the base.
I hope this helps, if you would like any futher information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind regards,
Amy.
