Which mattress for sore hips?

Mrs Gillian Henderson

Hi,.
I have arthritis in both hips and although it is not severe I do wake every morning and sometimes during the night with painful hips and back.
A new mattress is well overdue and I am now confused as to what is the best type for my needs.
I am 5 ft 9 and 11 stone and my husband is 6ft and 12 and a half stone.

Hi Gillian,

Thanks for your question.

At your body weights you would both be matched with a Medium spring tension to get the right level of support;

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

With arthritis of any severity you generally want some sort of pressure relief.

Have a look at our Artisan Naturals, which has a medium upholstery providing a slight sink in sensation into the top layer.

Alternatively, have a look at our Artisan Luxury, which has our softest upholstery giving that luxurious sink in sensation in that top layer.

I hope this helps but if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
