Buying a new mattress, advice appreciated please

Hi, I'm due to move back into my flat in a couple of weeks time and I need a new double mattress (although I would rather wait for the best mattress possible rather than impulse-buy one). I would like the best I can possibly get as I have a slipped disc (lower back) and trapped nerves in both my lower and upper back which causes pain in my knees, ankles, neck and shoulders. Unfortunately, I'm restricted to a budget of around 700GBP. I've previously looked through your website and checked reviews which not only highly rate the service you provide but also the mattresses available. I'm 5ft 5in tall and weigh 10 and a half stone. I have a bedstead with slats and on the whole prefer a firmer bed as I have a thinner/firmer pillow. I would prefer natural fibres. If you could provide me with any advice or suggestions on a mattress. Ultimately I love your Artisan 1500 or Tailored Pocket but I imagine this would only be possible through your outlet source.

The first thing to say is that mattresses with natural fibres in the upholstery attract a higher price and are not therefore within everyone's budget. All the mattresses in our Artisan range contain natural fibres in the upholstery in varying levels depending upon the model. Our outlet does contain some mattresses that have been returned under our 60 day "love it or return it" guarantee and are graded according to their condition. Having said that, we very rarely get any double sized products back, so holding out for one may not be fruitful.
Taking the other information you have provided into account, it is possible that one of the products in our Origins range may suit. With your particular body weight, we would suggest that you require a medium spring tension/feel, and we would suggest that you view the Origins Pocket 1500, which is one of our best selling products as detailed at the foot of this response.
Whilst to Origins Pocket 1500 will provide you with a medium feel, placing it on a slatted base is likely to make it feel ever so slightly firmer. In addition, we would advise placing some form of barrier, usually thin (3-5mm) MDF over the slats to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats. This mattress is competitively priced and represents excellent value for money when compared to other products on the market at present.
