Icon pocket sprung mattress with memory foam topper

The mattress in question is 2.5 years old. The topper is already very saggy and, due to it being ridiculously hot, is rather stained. Is it possible to remove the memory foam topper and replace it with a generic topper that may be a little cooler. I'm having to use a gel cooling pad between topper and the mattress protector and I'm still too hot - no heating in the bedroom, windows open and outside there's frost on the ground. Something needs to change and I'm loathe to spend hundreds of pounds to replace a mattress bought in 2014.
Thanks.

Hi Deborah,

So sorry to hear your mattress is causing so much disappointment. We have seen this issue a lot with cheaper foams that are used in some mattress models that either compress or sag really quickly leaving you with a useless mattress. Also, memory foams can get incredibly hot for some sleepers like you're experiencing, unlike hybrid or latex foams which are far cooler.

I'm guessing from your description the topper adheres to the mattress like a pillowtop? If so I'm afraid there is no way to easily remove it, other than cut it off which is messy and may damage the underlying mattress.

We can understand you're loathed to replace the entire mattress but if it is a pillowtop mattress then you really have very few options other than the cooling pad you're using at the moment. When you do come to replace your mattress in the future we would recommend avoiding memory foam and going for a more traditional and breathable mattress. Sorry, we can't be of more help in rectifying the issues with your Icon mattress at this time.

Kind Regards
