With your particular body weights we would suggest that a medium spring tension/feel mattress is most appropriate. When purchasing a new mattress you need to select the correct spring tension for your body weights as too soft or too firm can cause issues resulting in aches and pains on rising and pressure point pain. Once you have decided upon a spring tension, you then need to look at what level of comfort you require and this is provided by the upholstery layers in a mattress.
 
Using your budget as a guide, we would refer you to the products in our Origins range and in particular the best selling product in that range, the Origins Pocket 1500. This mattress has a standard medium tension spring tension and has man made upholstery providing an overall medium feel. This mattress would be paired with a platform top base and can have the drawers selected to suit. Alternatively, if you would like some natural upholstery in your mattress, please view the Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000, which has a 50/50 split in upholstery, natural/man made and is usually paired with a sprung base. The upholstery in this product may provide that slightly firmer feel that you suggest you like.
 
As far as the two products you refer to are concerned, the published details of the construction and upholstery in terms of GSM (grams per square metre) are limited making any form of comparison impossible. Likewise, it makes providing any form of opinion as to quality and performance impossible. The firmness rating you refer to is exclusive to Bensons and there is no way of providing a comparison.
