lower back problems / side sleeper - which mattress?

hi there, i'm about 9 stone and sleep on my side 90% of the time. I suffer from lower back pain all the time and tend to get warm during the night. been trawling through the various reviews for mattresses and finding it really hard to decipher all the information out there for side-sleepers. I'm wondering whether you recommend the Origins 1500 given the above and would the wool top layer be too warm?
also, the indents (for lack of a better description) on the top layer of the mattress seem quite deep. will i feel these through the bedsheets at all?

Hi Rasha

Thanks for your question.

Natural fibre filled mattresses create the coolest sleep surfaces, so the Artisan range will be cooler than the Origins range, which contain more man made fibres.

The indents you mention are where the tufts are placed to keep all the fibres in place, and some people do feel the tufts through their sheets. The only mattresses that don't have tufts are those that are made from foam or latex, where the layers can be glued in place, and don't require tufts.

Side sleepers do require softer top upholstery layers so no extra pressure is created. The Origins 1500 is a medium feel mattress in the springs and also the top upholstery layers. The Origins Comfort has the slightly softer top upholstery feel. The Artisan Luxury has the softest top layers, but all these mattresses are tufted.

If you require any further assistance please call the office on 0161 437 4419.

Regards Gary
