Title says it all, looking at the origins pocket relfex, 5ft 4 1/2, would this mattress be a good choice? I do prefer a firmer bed but don't want to buy it and find its rock hard. Current mattress is orthopaedic.

Hi Tammi,

Thank you for your enquiry. The Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 mattress has a medium spring tension as standard. At your body weight, this will give you the correct level of support which will allow your body to find it's own level throughout the night instead of being forced into an unnatural position. Orthopaedic mattresses have firm or extra firm spring tensions which you do not weigh enough to compress.  This means that the only support you are getting from this mattress is from its upholstery layer which will also be firm.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

As this mattress contains reflex foam in the upholstery the feel is dependant on your body weight. At your body weight, this mattress will have a firm feel but will not be as firm as an orthopaedic mattress. When purchasing a new mattress you should take into account your sleeping habits and comfort preferences to determine which model would be the most suitable.

I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual requirements please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
