Hi
I need to buy a new single bed( thanks for the comparison chart you e mailed me) and my bedroom is in an attic with a very small narrow twisted staircase to it. I won't be able to get a divan base up there or a large frame and was thinking of getting a smallish slatted base with foot and head board but have read comments on mattresses not being supported enough with slats.
Can you give me any advice on this ?
thanks

Hi Lizzie,

All our mattresses can be used on slatted bases provided that some form of barrier, usually in the form of thin (3-5mm) MDF, is used to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and prevent any ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps in the slats. What must be borne in mind is that the slatted base on it's own will make any mattress feel slightly firmer and with the addition of MDF, this firmness will also increase slightly. So in essence, what I am saying is do not be worried about using a slatted base with our products.

Kind regards
