Thank you for your question. Our clearance mattresses have been returned to us under the 60 day love it or return it guarantee. A grade B mattress may have a few marks or scuffs on the side from transit and courier handling. A grade C mattress will have marks or scuffs from transit and courier handling but may also have a small tear. There would be nothing detrimental to the sleep surface or the lifespan of the mattress. You would still get the same 60 day love it or return it guarantee and the same manufacturer's warranty.
 

 
The mattress you are considering, the Artisan 1500, has a firmer medium feel in the upholstery layers, also known as the comfort layers. This is suitable for front and back sleepers so that they do not sink in too much and for side sleepers who prefer a firmer feel.  It is constructed with 53% natural fibres which help to regulate your body temperature as they are more breathable than manmade fibres as well as more durable.  I would not recommend upholstery layers that are firmer if you are a side sleeper as firm upholstery layers can cause pressure pains in the shoulders and hips.

The mattress you have referenced in our clearance has a firm spring tension. Given your heights and weights, we would pair you both with the medium spring tension to give you the correct level of support. You would not get support from the firm spring tension as neither of you weighs enough to activate the pocket springs which need to move with you to provide support.
 

 
We do have a grade B Artisan 1500 super kingsize mattress - medium tension - in our clearance at the moment which has been discounted by 20%. As it is the upholstery layers rather than the springs that determine how the mattress feels, this would still have a firmer supportive feel with a little sink in the top layer.
