Hi, I am struggling to find a comfortable mattress. I have polymyalgia and even though I don't have pain anymore I often feel 'pressure' on my body when I sleep ( particularly on memory foam, latex mattress) . We are therefore looking at pocket sprung mattress and were considering the premier inn one until I read your review. We are trialing a Hypnos mid range mattress from soak and sleep at the moment and don't seem to be getting on with it either. The top comfort layer doesn't seem to be that comfortable, almost feeling the springs underneath. Do you think either the artisan natural or fifteeen hundred would be better and give a more comfortable top layer.. We don't like it too soft but also not rock hard. I guess for our weight we would only need a medium spring tension.
Hi, I did send a question earlier but realised I didn't give you all the info you needed. I am 5ft 8 and weigh just over 9 stone. My husband is 5ft 9 and weighs 11.512 stone. I sleep on my side mainly and sometimes on my back. He mainly sleeps on his back, sometimes side. We have a hand made bed frame which we can either board over completely and have a solid base or we have sprung wooden slats. We are looking at the Artisan 1500 or Artisan natural. I think we need a medium spring tension but not sure about feel. We don't like it too soft but then don't like it too firm either. I want it to feel supportive but comfortable and cushioned without that sinking feeling. Would the natural be the best on the solid platform base? Thanks.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We note that you sleep mainly on your side and that there is not a great deal of a weight differential.

We would therefore suggest that you opt for a medium spring tension and the Artisan Naturals offers a medium overall feel in the upholstery as opposed to the Artisan 1500, which has slightly firmer upholstery.

The mattress will be fine on your slatted base provided that you do cover it to provide the mattress with a uniform surface upon which to sit and prevent ridging occurring as a result of the mattress dipping into the gaps between the slats.

We also note that you have indicated that you are currently trialing a Hypnos mattress from Soak and Sleep.

Although we offer a 60 day "love it or return it" guarantee, this should not be viewed as a "try before you buy" option.

We endeavour to match the customer(s) to the product and in 96% of cases we get this spot on, which is why we are confident to offer this guarantee.

We trust that this helps, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards Gary
