Many thanks for your question about the Bespoke collection by Staples at Bensons. Unfortunately, it seems Bensons have discontinued this range in their stores and website. The Staples mattress collection is no longer available. We have experience with this mattress so can still give you some advice if you've found this Benson's bed for sale on another reseller mattress site.

The Bespoke Collection by Staples for Bensons are part of their higher-end mattress offering. Moving towards the likes of Harrison Spinks and other high-quality mattress manufacturers. Ideally, we need to know your body weight, height and comfort preference to fully assess the suitability of this Bensons Bed for you Paul. However, let's take a closer look at the listed specifications and give some feedback on the quality of this Bensons mattress.

5000 Premium Pocket Springs:

There's a huge marketing exercise around mattress pocket spring counts and trying to cram in as many springs as possible. The maximum number of standard full-size pocket spring you can fit in a mattress when used in a dual later is around 2000. Anything higher than this and manufacturers have to use the dreaded micro or HD springs. In our experience of trialling them, they are pretty much useless and compress as soon as any moderate weight or force is applied to them.

The perimeter plus sounds to use like the standard pocket spring wire edge strip that the springs are attached to. This stops them bulging at the sides and should be used in any quality pocket sprung mattress.

The more springs you add to a mattress over this 2000 count is then at the detriment and removal of much-needed mattress upholstery which impacts the comfort layers of your bed.

Bensons sadly like most bed manufactures won't disclose the exact breakdown of what's inside their mattress ranges. Without this information you the customer are just left guessing. Which isn't ideal when you're spending anywhere between £600 and £2000 on a new mattress!
