There is bad news and good news.

 

The bad news is that in respect of the mattresses you refer to, none of the manufacturers provide detailed information regarding the fillings and upholstery layers making any comparison or reasoned advice regarding suitability impossible.

 

The good news is that you have found our site and we are adept at providing the right information to allow people to select the best mattress for them without any hyped sales pitches.

 

It does not automatically follow that if you have back issues you ought to have a firm or Orthopaedic bed. This was the old information out there and it's quite the opposite these days. We would say here go for something more medium feeling or soft in those top layers.

 

There are several considerations which we make when advising on the suitability of a mattress and they are body weight, preferred feel and budget. At your body weight you would need a Firm spring tension to get the right support.

 

Have a look at our Artisan Naturals in a Firm spring tension. This model has that medium upholstery providing a slight sink but not too much.
