Whats the diffrence between the medium mattress and medium firm mattress? Which is softer

Lee Answered 6 months ago

Hi Claire,

A medium mattress is usually a mattress that has support from 10 stone to say 16 stone. When I say usually, all manufacturers are slightly different and there's no single definition of accepted tensions. Frustrating huh! We, however have our own tension guidance and you can see each product has a feel for weight ranges. We also list the spring tension tolerances for our Artisan range on this soft, medium and firm post.

The difference between a medium and medium firm in our range is that a medium firm would be at the firmer end of medium edging towards a firm tension. It's really tricky, and we tend not to use medium firm or soft medium that often as it is not that helpful. Id hazard a guess that other suppliers use this when a mattress is supporting a 15 stone -16 stone sleeper and they don't want to call it 'firm' to put people off!

The medium would be softer in your example.
