Double mattress to replace John Lewis 3 super kingsize mattress

Comment Check Icon 1 answers Comment Icon 0 comments

I have a John Lewis bed that I find very comfortable. However it is a super king and since my husband died recently it is just too big. I am looking to get a 4’6” double. My current mattress is a John Lewis pocket sprung premium 3 season turn mattress. Could you advise on a similar mattress from your range and the cost?
Many thanks

Hi Jane,

Thank you for your question. I am sorry for your loss.

How old is your current mattress? I have had a look at John Lewis and only found two mattresses with the number 3, the John Lewis Classic No 3 and the John Lewis Wool No 3. It could be that your mattress has been discontinued.

Origins Comfort 1000 mattress base and headboard in Cocktail Straw

The John Lewis Classic No 3 is a two sided mattress with polyester as the comfort layer. As there are no GSMs given it would be difficult to make a comparison to any mattress within our range in terms of comfort. Our closest in construction would be the Origins Comfort 1000 which is slightly softer than an overall medium level of comfort and has a medium spring tension as standard.

The John Lewis Wool No 3 is a one sided mattress with wool and polyester in the comfort layers and two tiers of spun bonded springs which give a softer support and bouncer feel to the mattress. We do not have anything within our ranges which would compare with this mattress.

The level of comfort you require in the upholstery layers is determined by how you sleep and your comfort preferences. We do not recommend firm mattresses for side sleepers or soft mattresses for front and back sleepers.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

The spring tension you require is based on your height and weight to provide the correct level of support.

If you would like to discuss your individual needs please contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards

Michaela
