Paul Brannigan

I suffer from fibromyalgia and I need a new bed which is soft enough to reduce the pressure points causing pain, cool enough so no latex or gel and able to accommodate my weight of 13 stone and still provide same comfort for a 9 stone partner requiring a cool bed. Our budget is up to £2500 for a bed.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We are sorry to hear that you are suffering from fibromyalgia and will endeavour to point you into the right direction in terms of a suitable mattress, although we cannot make any medical guarantees in respect of the same.

The first thing to say is that when advising upon a mattress we take into account body weight(s), preferred feel, budget and any additional information such as medical conditions.

With your particular body weights, we would recommend a split spring tension mattress, medium for you and soft for your partner.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

From what you have said, having taken into account your body weights, we now need to look at the comfort level provided by the upholstery.

The product which we think will meet your requirements is in our Artisan range and that is the Artisan Luxury, which can be made with a split tension in king size and above. The overall price of a mattress and base in this model will fall within your budget.

We trust that the above is of assistance to you, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419,

Kind Regards Gary
