Fusion 5 vs Yanis Firmsense/Premium Latex Mattress
Hi,
I am currently looking into getting a latex mattress. I have read the great article you have on your site about latex. So i was looking online and i saw the two below yanis mattress which has good info on their site about the composition, benefits etc.
I wanted to get your view on how this compares to your Fusion 5. I would appreciate if someone can look at the two links below and let me know their thoughts.

Hi Rik,
Thanks for your query and we're glad the site has been helpful in you understanding latex.
The Premium latex mattress doesn't give the blend it just states 'natural' which could be 20% or 40% or 60%, in fact, it could indeed be just 1%. Unless it says I couldn't comment on its natural content. Synthetic latex is not as responsive as Natural Latex so it does have a bearing on the overall feel.
Again this is the same with the firmsense, it just states 100% Dunlopillo latex but again this could be synthetic latex made the Dunlop way.
Our Fusion 5 is 100% natural Dunlopillo latex in 70kg medium tension and has a taped edged cotton stretch cover. It also comes with turning handles and our John Ryan love it or return it within 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
Fusion 5 | Dunlopillo Diamond | |
---|---|---|
Cover | Micro-quilt John Ryan Cover with tape edged damask sides | 2cm quilted cover with Actipro |
1 | 18cm 100% 70kg Natural Latex | 14cm Latex (Density & blend unknown) |
Total Depth | 18cm + 3-5 cm for the quilted cover | 16cm |
Confusing I know. The key here with any latex mattress is that unless you know the blend of natural to synthetic, the density of the latex and the manufacturing method you can't adequately compare them.
