Help with base selection for the Artisan Bespoke

Hi. We've pretty much decided on the Artisan bespoke in medium tension after extensive research on your highly informative website. We have selected this mattress because we are in favour of a firmer feel and an all natural fibre mattress.
However, our concern is with what base to pair it with. We are considering a platform top divan, but I'm concerned whether this will make the bespoke too firm. On the other hand if we go for a firm edge sprung divan, the concern is it will make the bespoke feel too soft.
Is there that big a difference between a platform top and a sprung divan? Would it perhaps be a good idea to purchase the mattress and trial it on the floor to simulate a platform top divan? That way we would have a great idea of whether a platform top divan is suited to us before committing to a bed.

Thank you for your enquiry. The Artisan Bespoke is a 100% natural fibre mattress with a firmer upholstery feel which is designed for a pocket sprung base. This means that you would get the true feel from this type of base. Placing this mattress on a platform base will firm up the springs giving an overall firmer feel.

This mattress has a similar feel to the Vi Spring Herald Superb. You could try this mattress in a showroom as it will be displayed on a pocket sprung base and then ask them to put it on a platform base (or the floor) to give you a general idea of how the two different bases affect the overall feel of the mattress.

The spring tension can be selected to suit your body weight(s). Choosing the correct spring tension will allow your body to find it's own level throughout the night while still giving you support.
