Im 15 stone, partners 10 stone, please help!

Hello, fantastic site and I'm dead set on purchasing a mattress and base but despite much reading find myself lacking in knoweldge. As stated I'm 15 stone with the added problem of large shoulders and wide back, incorrect mattresses both firm and soft are giving me problems with my shoulders (military not much choice I'm afraid) but would like to give myself a fighting chance at home, my partner is 10 stone with a preference for firm, what would you suggest for us? With a narrow waist and large shoulders I often feel 'compressed' up top! Thank you in advance!

Thank you for the compliment. With your body weight I would recommend a medium spring tension and for your wife a soft, however, I note that your wife prefers a firmer feel so medium is likely to suit both.

The are a number of mattresses in our ranges which would suit and it really comes down to preference in respect of upholstery and budget, although we would not recommend anything to firm in the comfort layers for side sleepers as this can cause pressure pains in the shoulders, hips and knees. Please view the details of the Origins Pocket 1500, which has synthetic upholstery and will provide an overall medium feel for you both. If your budget permits, please view the Artisan Naturals, Artisan Bespoke 004 or Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000, all of which have natural fibers in the comfort layers and are a medium feel.
