Hi Veronique,

Thanks for your question.

Please remember that the phrase 'Orthopaedic' just means a firm mattress. Generally we would advise anyone to steer clear of anything too firm feeling because normally it only serves to make those pains worse.

If you are in discomfort with your hip then you really should be looking at pocket springs as the support which offers something that moves with you and a suitable comfort layer. Nowadays, we would recommend something more medium feeling overall such as our Origins Pocket 1500 or Artisan Naturals, that will give a slight sink but not too much.

We would need to know your body weights and sleeping habits in order to validate this definitively.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Please come back to us on 0161 437 4419 at your earliest convenience to discuss this further.

Kind Regards, John and Ryan.
