Is our mattress latex SBR latex?
Hi there, could you please tell me if your natural latex mattresses have breathable 'holes' all over or if they are solid?
Also, do your natural latex mattresses contain SBR latex?
A latex which is produced from BAYER and is apparently a clean substance which helps latex natural milk to be in a stable mattress shape. I've read that it is not possible to make latex mattresses without this substance. Many thanks, kind regards, Alison
Hi Alison,
Thanks for your query, I love a good latex debate so you've made my day!
Ok our latex does contain the breathable holes all over but they don't always line up as a we use graphite latex to ensure its fire retardant.
So you wouldn't be able to say look all the way through the holes especially given the depth of our mattresses!
Even our 100% natural latex has to have an amount of SBR latex to, as you say, keep it stable and consistent.
Complete Natural Latex is a natural protein which would very very rapidly decline, start to crumble and potentially mould.
It also wouldn't be hypoallergenic believe it or not in its pure natural state because of the protein that bacteria can eat!
The inclusion of a small amount 4-6% of SBR makes it stable and completely clean balancing the material removing the potential for bacteria.
We're actually going to move away from our 80% natural latex and move entirely to our 100% which is in reality any where between 94/96% Natural latex.
This is because we are constantly trying to improve and up the quality of our products.
I hope that helps!
