Low depth mattress required

A customer asked

Hi John, I'm looking for single mattresses for a 3-in-1 guest bed. The problem is that the bottom mattress seems to be restricted in height to 8 inches (I haven't bought the base yet, but that seems to be the only option). I'd like pocket sprung, but previous in this thread you indicated that this would mean only two inches of upholstery. Would I be better off getting a spring-count open coil mattress instead?

Thanks, Melissa .

Hi Melissa.

For the hideaway part of the bed you really are restricted for space.

I really don't like open coil mattresses, they are so lacking in any kind of comfort.

For sizes less than 18/20cm minimal amount Polyester is going to be the main, if not only, component filling and therefore you should be looking for the best comfort for your money.

I had a quick look for you and have found this 14cm mattress comprising of Reflex Foam (12cm) and topped off with 2cm of memory foam.

Not something I would personally be comfortable selling but for a price of £85 it seems to me your best option for what you may require it for (occasional sleepover perhaps).

The only mattresses we can offer at this depth would be our Fusion 5 or Fusion 6. They are 100% Natural Latex mattresses and one is medium and one is firm, if it is for a guest bed i would recommend our Fusion 5 mattress as this is medium and will suit most body weights.

Hope this helps.
